Petite Sirah is the American name for the Durif grape. Durif takes its name from Dr. François Durif, who created the new grape variety in the mid 1800's when he successfully crossed Syrah with a grape called Peloursin. It's generally found in California blends abut it's also not uncommon to see 100% Petiti Sirah wines such as this. Full bodied and extraordinarily deep in color with flavors and aromas of blueberry, chocolate and plums. Enjoy with BBQ anything, pork with fruit sauce, beef steak and sausages.
